Things I've Done & Seen - April 2015
It's been a very busy April! Here's some of the things I've been up to... I spent the long Easter weekend drawing my old cat, Boyd, partly for fun and partly so I could use it as an example pet portrait listing in my Etsy shop.
I love how he came out, I just have nowhere to hang him in my tiny flat.
Just after Easter I started a new job in Richmond, which I love so far. I get to walk past the river and over this lovely bridge every day:
My commute is much nicer too, as I can get the bus all the way there and enjoy the views as I pass Kew Gardens. Much better than being stuffed inside the sweaty Piccadilly line during rush hour.
My office has a dog too. Plus, I'm not miserable any more, which is probably the best thing, to be honest.
Then I got my second Etsy order, this time for the watercolor Chopper card I painted. It now has a nice new home in Canada.
On the 21st I went to the Avengers premiere at Westfield. I walked past Robert Downey Jr. and Jeremy Renner and took this awful, blurry photo:
Here's some more pictures of premiere mayhem:
The film pretty good too! Me and Nate are now trying to watch all the other Marvel films one by one, since he's never seen any. We've only managed Iron Man so far.
The same day as the premiere I received another Etsy order for two custom mother's day cards (the customer was in Australia, where mother's day is on the 10th May this year). Then a couple of days later I got another one, again from Australia.
Here they are, all finished:
Not going to lie, it was a bit of a stressful and tiring week, but I'm not complaining because the fact that people want to pay me to turn their treasured family photos into paintings is amazing. I hope I get some father's day orders soon too :)
At some point I also managed to find the time to write some articles for Killer Queen Magazine, who kindly asked me to wrote about technology for them.
Finally, last week I went to the Bloomberg Business Europe launch party to celebrate all the hard work Nate and his team have put in over the last 4 months.
Here is Nate giving a speech with the CEO and MD of Bloomberg:
Now I'm enjoying the long bank holiday weekend by doing absolutely nothing. I doubt May will be as busy, but I'm looking forward to growing my Etsy shop some more.
By for now! :)
